In Year 1, Thrive’s majority-women, BIPOC, global team:

  • Granted 1 out of every 3 countries in the world

  • Distributed 94 grants to 60 countries & 6 continents

  • Moved $1.7M in grantmaking to end factory farming

  • Partnered to offer 2 strategic planning courses to 16 grantees from 16 countries

  • Jumpstarted the plant-based food systems movement in 30% of African countries

  • Held multiple grantee coaching sessions to support strategy & growth

  • Coached 148 Thrive Africa Accelerator members in campaign strategy

  • Strengthened Africa-based women-identified advocates through our inaugural Africa Vegan Women’s Initiative

  • Launched the world’s first Africa Vegan Restaurant Week and Africa School Lunch Campaign, joint Africa-wide campaigns with nearly 50 registered participants from 16 African countries, increasing nutritious plant-based food access to tens of thousands of people

  • 2 staff members were recipients of the Rockwood Equity in Philanthropy Leadership Fellowship

  • Launched Donor Services to facilitate international giving

  • And more.

And all using a Trust-Based Philanthropy, equity-centered grantmaking approach.
