Candace Burton has always wanted to make a positive impact with her work which led her to The Boston Foundation. Currently, as the Program Officer for Safety Net Grants, she supports organizations that respond to essential needs for marginalized communities and vulnerable residents in Greater Boston. Since 2021, Candace has helped grant over $6 million to nonprofits. Other responsive grantmaking responsibilities of hers include leading recommendations for The Boston Foundation’s Food, Fuel & Shelter Fund. She is the co-chair for the Boston Chapter of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy, whose mission is to empower emerging leaders and elevate philanthropic practice in order to build a more just, equitable and sustainable world. Prior to this, Candace worked at various sport nonprofit organizations including Good Sports, Up2Us Sports and Asphalt Green where she did everything from fundraising to event planning to program management. She is an alum of Ithaca College and UMass Amherst. Candace currently lives in Massachusetts with her fiancé and dog, loves outdoor activities and has been plant based since she was 18.
