Liana Paris is a social-impact leader with over 15 years’ experience across United Nations program management in a conflict zone, non-profit strategy consulting, social impact startup operations and partnerships, and foundations as both a grantee and a funder.

As a nonprofit strategy consultant with Root Cause (now Impact Catalysts), Liana supported more than 35 organizations including foundations, city governments, nonprofits and social enterprises. This work included coaching, facilitation, business plans, financial models, and performance measurement systems to drive growth and sustainability. As Associate Director of the practice, she also built internal systems to ensure robust, sustainable client products while caring for team members and partners.

Liana enjoys international and multicultural work: her career began in Jordan/Iraq with the UN, and she deployed the East and West African presence of the financial inclusion startup Segovia Technology (spin-off of GiveDirectly) before moving to digitizing vaccination operations in the Eastern Mediterranean and African regional offices of the World Health Organization (WHO) with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Liana works ardently to improve the effectiveness of organizations committed to social good. She has united this focus with her long-standing love of animals to begin supporting organizations that advocate for animal welfare. Along with the honor of serving on the Thrive Philanthropy Advisory Committee, she is also a member of Asia for Animals Capacity in Animal Protection Coalition.
