Meghana is the Finance and Operations Manager at Thrive Philanthropy, where she ensures the entire organization runs at peak efficiency. Her previous experience includes working as a climate change marine biologist, animal rights advocate, social justice community organizer, program coordinator, administrator, and event manager with diverse international and local grassroots experience. She was previously the grants program coordinator for one of the world’s largest international vegan regranting departments where she oversaw grants management for over 100 grants per year and found creative means to distribute funding to difficult-to-reach countries, as well as facilitated leadership development opportunities to over 100 Africa-based grantees per year. She is a co-founder of Africa Vegan Restaurant Week.
Her extensive global travel and experiences working in and with social justice advocates from numerous countries and cultures give Meghana an advantage in dealing with people from around the world and with a variety of global issues. She works with a lens of decolonization, intersectionality, and transformative justice. Meghana holds an MSc in Marine Biology, a Graduate Diploma in Marine Biology, and a BSc in Biological Sciences with a focus on Microbiology.
She also works as operations manager at A Just World, an organization that is transforming food system reform in India. She is a keen diver who holds a PADI divemaster certification and a member of Wellington Batucada.
