Nabaasa Innocent Kashobera is a vegan in Uganda. She is the founder of the Uganda Vegan Society, one of the largest and first vegan organizations in all of Africa. She is also the founder of Uganda Vegan Festival and co-founder of Africa Vegan Restaurant Week. Her passion toward veganism is driven by the desire to reduce the consumption and exploitation of animals and animal products, environmental protection, and to reduce the spread of non-communicable diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes and some cancers which are caused by the uncontrolled consumption of animals.
At Thrive Philanthropy, Nabaasa oversees the Africa Accelerator, Africa Vegan Restaurant Week, and other Africa-based projects.
