Originally from Canada, Sara is a qualified lawyer in England and Wales, bringing a unique international perspective to her legal practice. Sara is deeply committed to advancing animal welfare through legal advocacy.
As General Counsel and Non-Executive Director at the Animal Alliance Project, she combines her legal expertise with a passion for protecting animal rights. In addition to her role, she serves as a pro bono lawyer at the Animal Law Centre of the UK (A-Law). Her work also extends to contributing to the All-Party Parliamentary Dog Advisory Welfare Group (APDAWG).
Before her work in animal welfare, Sara built a distinguished career in commercial litigation, through her role in defence intelligence where she worked on complex international commercial contracts and ensured compliance across multinational operations, gaining invaluable experience in navigating high-stakes legal environments. Her legal career is marked by successful litigation against leading airlines, financial institutions, and government organizations. Notably, she also provided legal support to victims of the Grenfell Tower tragedy. Driven by a commitment to non-human rights, she applies her deep commercial and legal knowledge to influence policy and foster meaningful change for organizations dedicated to animal welfare.
